At Last! A Webring in 2026!

While I am hard at work on getting one more big post done before the end of June, I wanted to write up this quick housekeeping matter because I think it will be of interest to people who read this site.

When I first started Thrilling Tales of Old Video Games back in 2022, my aim was to create the kind of website that made the internet fun back in the day, where you end up there looking for one specific thing and then get surprised by how much other cool stuff the same person has researched. Before you know it, you’ve spent the entire day on the site, and you’re all the better for it.

It’s this origin story that made TToOVG a great fit for Warp Point, a new (but old-style) webring service connecting the various people creating cool stuff related to video gams. It’s exactly what you’d think it is: a single page that connects all the independent sites that focus on video games. And it’s a great way to band together and in the face of a changing internet that seeks to make original content harder to find, especially if you’d rather spend less time on social media.

Moving forward, you will find the Warp Point widget in the footer of every post on this site. You’ll also see it immediately below.

Neat, huh? It displays links to three other Warp Point-affiliated sites, randomly chosen every time you load the page. And if you want to know more about this project and how to get your own site listed, read this introduction post.
